The blend of action, adventure, and horror, A Plague Tale: Innocence – a video game, was developed and published by Asobo Studio and Focus Home Interactive, respectively. The game was released in May 2019 for PlayStation 4, Microsoft Windows, and Xbox One.
A Plague Tale Innocence is a tale of siblings who are on the run from the Inquisition and a deadly plague of rats. Keeping yourself as Amicia and your brother Hugo is no less than a daunting task and is full of thrill and adventure at every step.
The Gameplay
The game is played with a third-person perspective where the player assumes control of Amicia de Rune- a young girl who lives on a large estate with her family in France. The early scene shows her strong relationship with her father as they both were out on hunting together. She rarely sees her mother who spends all her time to find a genuine cure for her brother’s mysterious illness.
The siblings escape from the place due to a specific reason where they are forced out on their own and have to figure out the ways to survive along with finding the reason of why the Inquisition wants Hugo.
Amicia’s main weapon is her sling that can be used to fling rocks. Eventually, you as Amicia will be able to unlock new tools that can let you perform actions like extinguishing a flame or summoning a group of rats. While Hugo can be directed to do specific tasks but it is quite risky because he will start panicking as soon as he would be left alone.

Though the game has a straightforward path, you do have a lot of freedom to move around and find ways to survive. A Plague Tale Innocence weaves gameplay and storytelling together which is the fun part of the game. In a dark world watching a pair of siblings figuring out how to thrive makes this game worth exploring.
